Tyler Lee Hoechlin is an American actor. He got his big break starring as Michael Sullivan, Jr. in the film Road to Perdition (2002). For television he is known for playing the role of Martin Brewer on 7th Heaven and the role of Derek Hale on the MTV series Teen Wolf.
He began acting at the age of nine. His performance as Michael Sullivan, Jr. in Road to Perdition led to him getting the role of Martin Brewer in the show 7th Heaven in 2003. Hoechlin was nominated for a 2004 Teen Choice Award for Breakout Male Star. He starred in the 2007 David DeCoteau film Grizzly Rage and was in the 2008 movie Solstice. He also starred in an episode of Castle in its second season. He appeared alongside Owen Wilson and Christina Applegate in the 2011 movie Hall Pass. He also played werewolf Derek Hale in the television series Teen Wolf.
BuddyTV ranked him #3 on its list of "TV's Sexiest Men of 2011".
In 2016, Hoechlin was cast as Superman on the CW show Supergirl. He will appear in the first two episodes of the show's second season.
